Committees
The Annual
Meeting Committee oversees all of the many responsibilities for the annual
membership meetings. They endeavor to provide the membership with
an enlightening, rewarding, and entertaining gathering.
The Certification
Committee is responsible for administrating the Professional Missouri
Mapper designation program. To acquire designation, candidates must
have a certain amount of experience and education, and complete a
comprehensive mapping examination.
The Education
Committee works to furnish educational opportunities by providing regional
workshops which are held several times each year throughout the state.
The Historical
Committee is responsible for accumulating information about MMA and
for preserving these records for future memberships.
The Information
Technology Committee provides a website to disseminate organizational
information to members and promote the organization to non-members.
The Legislation
Committee keeps apprised of any current legislation involving mapping
and informs the membership of such. Members are on occasion asked
to notify their legislators in support of or opposition to proposed
legislation.
The Membership
Committee is constantly working to bring new members into the organization.
They maintain the membership records and publish a membership directory
annually.
The Publication
Committee produces the MMA News, a quarterly newsletter which contains
informative, educational, and entertaining tidbits.
