The 2008 Missouri Mappers conference is complete! “MMA: Mapping Our Future” offered a variety of educational workshops and conference sessions for both new and experienced mappers. Especially well received were Wednesday’s geocaching event, State GIO Tim Haithcoat’s keynote address, and Thursday afternoon’s panel discussion on statewide GIS standards. Thanks to everyone who attended, and a special thanks to a great conference committee who worked hard to put together a quality event for all!

  • MMA Conference Golf Tournament Results - by Jim Kyle
  • The MMA 3rd Annual Golf Tournament was held at the Bear Creek Valley Golf Course with 10 teams and 40 players turning participating. The weather was great and everybody had a great time. I want to personally thank all of the companies that donated prizes this year, without you we wouldn't have been able to award prizes. I also want to thank everybody that played this year, we had a great turnout. Maybe next year we will have even more teams participate. We had winners for A flight, B flight, 2 closest to the hold, long drive and longest putt. Here are this years winners:
    • A flight: Larry Schall, Mark Allen, Tom Sanders & Jim Angerer
    • B flight: Walter Ertz, Rodney Cope, Scott Shipman & Rick Hanamm
    • Longest Drive: Jim Kyle
    • Closest to Hole #2: Robert Harley
    • Closest to Hole #16: Jim Angerer
    • Longest Putt: Roger Arnzen

    Make Plans for next year. I believe we will be back at Lake of the Ozarks and we will likely play Bear Creek Valley again. We had a great turnout this year with the 12 Noon starting time and will likely start at the same time again next year.
